We Norwegians are very interested in the weather. If we run out of things to talk about with good friends, meet someone we don't really have too much in common with, or just talk to a stranger on the bus, we OFTEN talk about the weather. It is actually very important to us, and it is something that concerns everybody!
So many will wonder, as I move to South Africa, "What's the weather like where you are, Mon?"
Well, I've already tken care of that with this:
Just click on the little sticker, and you can all see a 5 days forkast.
Let's see how it works :)

I went, I saw and I'm going back!
Sorry, my friends, that this blog has not been up-dated in a while...
My ambition is to tell you something from my life...once every couple of weeks...?! Realistic? I don't know, but that's my goal! :)
Well, let me just start right now by letting you all know:
I'M MOVING TO SOUTH AFRICA!!!
My trip in September was sucsessfull. I found a job in a growing township, at a Secondary School. When I was there, the principal said I would be teaching English in two Grade 8 and two Grade 9. EXCITING!!!
There are great challenges in this township, and therefore also in this school, with things relating to health and social needs. Some of these kids are orphans and the oldest in their family, all because of AIDS. There is little or no hope of making a better life for themselves.
I have a simple, but profound, philosophy:
In order to create growth in both ones own life, a local society and a country, two things are needed: JESUS and EDUCATION. (Not that Jesus is a thing...)
That's what I intend to give. :)
When I was down in September, I also got my hair done - the African way! It was a test in patience, both for me and the hair dressers, as it took the 3 ladies no less than 15 hours to do it! I am NOT joking! However, it took me 18 hours to undo them...
But... I will definately do it again! 'Cause it looked smashin', if I may say so myself! ;)
Oh well, that's it for now!
Be good!
Love, mon

Who stole my summer???
Man, what a disaterous summer!!! I can remember three days where I have been out able to enjoy the sun and the temperature! THREE DAYS!!! That's what I can remember now from the top of my head... Sadness..!
But hey! I'm not staying here for too long anyway! :))
In September I'll be flying south, to Africa, to meet up with some people involved in making this world a better place for at least some people..! This trip might be very significant for my future, as I'm hoping to find out who to work with when I move down there (hopefully) in January. I've put my life and future in God's loving and mighty hands, and I trust that as He has been leading me this far, He will continue to do so!
My church has decided to send me out as their - and God's, representative for His Kingdom, of which I am EXTREEMELY gratefull! They will pray for me and help cover my financial needs. It lifts a burden off my shoulders.. :)
Praise God for being SO faithfull, always loving me, touching my heart in wonderous ways, and helping me out in the life on this side of death! ;)

Princess!!!
I did a test:
It's a tie!
It's a tie!
You are part Jasmine. You are loyal and would visit the ends of the earth for what you believe. You would never let obstacles stand in the way of true love.
You are part Pocahontas. You defy convention and sometimes do what is considered taboo. Unfortunately, others do not always appreciate your differences, so it's good that you are so strong-willed. You are loyal and you believe in fate. Your true love will find you one day.

Impressions
Here are some of the things I saw and places I went to during my trip to France this Easter Holiday...
My good friend Lilly and I on our way up to a Midievial city called Eze. The Mediteranian in the background.
This is the old city of Menton, where we stayed.
Lilly and I posing in the park in front of the Cassino in Monte Carlo, Monacco. What a beautiful day in a beautiful park! :)

Easter 007
Easter is over, and again it has touched my heart how far Jesus was willing to go in order that I might have contact with my Heavenly Father, Himself and the Holy Spirit...
I'm SO amazed at just why Jesus still want to be my friend, saviour, guide and provider... I mean, I'm so distant so often, and yet when I turn my eyes to Him, He just opens up to me and pours out his love on me - abundantly!
Anyone else out there that can relate? I mean, can anything compare to his mercy? To his love? Not to mention his patience? How about his power? And his majesty? Anything? Anyone...?
Then how come I don't spend more time with Him...? I'm in no way worthy of his love and devotion to me, but still I keep receiving it!
WOW!

"You are from...No-where??? Oh, Norway!"
Funny...?
About ten years ago I talked with a friend of mine. I told him I wanted to work with children. Later in the conversation I said that I didn't really have a heart for children, and didn't think too much about the lack of connection in the whole picture, if you see what I mean... Not until my friend asked me "Why do you want to work with children when you don't have a heart for them?" Fair enough...! I could not give him a proper answer. Not until four years ago.
That's when I started my teacher education. I never wanted to become a teacher, because I think there are enough teachers in my family. However, when God told me I should apply for the University College for the teacher education, I first laughed, but then applied.
It turned out, no surprise, to be one of the best choices I've made! I soon realized this was really "It" for me! I have had some of my best years studying, I have found several great new friends, and I've learned SO much!
One of the main things I have learned is, guess what, that I really love to teach and I love to be with children! Today I was a replacement teacher (if that's what it's called...) and it was SO NICE!
So ten years ago I wasn't really too fond of children, but now I love them! Funny..? Or has God known what He has been doing all along?
